Castletown Heritage talk "Finding the Gaskins"

“Finding the Gaskins” A talk about genealogy to discover the history of an old Isle of Man family, The Gaskins. For many years they lived in the property that Jenny and her husband now own.
Jenny brought an old house and decided to research the people that lived there many years ago. Hear about her interesting exploration of those owners and their lives, using the many sources of information available on the Island.

Jenny’s talk is about the discoveries she and her husband made when renovating their semi derelict Manx stone cottage in the shadow of Earystane. She will focus on the notable personages who had lived in the cottage before them, which will also introduce some local history that their research uncovered in relation to their property.

The talk will be followed by tea and coffee and the chance to talk about Jenny’s findings and perhaps get some tips if you want to do your own research into Manx families.
