The government says it's hoping to cut the number of empty shops on the Island by 10 per cent a year under a new strategy.
The Isle of Man's Local Economy Strategy, covering the next 10 years, will be considered by Tynwald members when the court sits later this month.
Business Isle of Man says it wants to reduce shop vacancy rates to increase consumer choice and provide more jobs.
It also says it'll monitor footfall in Douglas and seven other towns and villages across the Island.
