Increasing the Isle of Man's minimum wage will put pressure on employers.
That's the message from the Department of Economic Development which says it will work with them to monitor the impact of proposed changes.
Tynwald will be asked to increase the minimum amount paid to employees when it sits later this month - it's part of efforts to make the Island more competitive.
Minister Laurence Skelly says if successful the changes won't be introduced straight away:
