£125,000 to help Mobile Library for further year

The Island's Family Library has been given a cash injection to keep its Mobile library open for at least another year.

The future of the library has been uncertain - with talks about closing after financial backing from Tynwald ceased last year.

The service requires £250,000 each year to operate.

Now, government says £125,000 will be given from a fund managed by the Treasury.

A consultation on the report of the Council of Ministers Working Party on Libraries will be launched next week.
