    2022: MSPCA re-homes 175 cats & kittens

A local charity has re-homed 175 cats and kittens, this year alone.

In a 'year round up' video by the Manx SPCA, it tells the tale of kitten 'Graihagh' - who was found lifeless at the side of the road last year.

Although she was found completely blind and starving - after hard work by MSPCA staff and local vets - she went on to make a significant recovery, and was adopted last December.

The charity says many kittens and cats are rescued each year and require medical attention.

It says without donations, care and treatment wouldn't be possible.

Further, this year teams have taken in 43 dogs for re-homing, 70 per cent of those were gifted in to the MSPCA as owners couldn't cope.

It adds 'it's with the help of donations from the public, we're able to give animals the care and support they need to find new homes.'

The charity - which celebrated its 125th anniversary this year cares for a wide-range of animals - including the likes of hedgehogs, birds and guinea pigs - taking in approximately 1,600 animals every year.

If you'd like to support the charity and 'lend a paw to help' you can help the charity by visiting its shops, donating animal food, sending financial assistance or buying merchandise.
