600 patients helped by Air Ambulance Service last year

The Isle of Man Air Ambulance Service says it helped 600 patients last year.

On Facebook, the service which transfers patients between the Isle of Man and the UK says it made 426 flights off the Island, and another 174 inbound.

Accounting for more than a third of all flights were cardiology patients, followed by oncology.

Between January and December last year, the service says 53 of its flights were time-critical while another 108 were classed as urgent.
