    600-year-old ring declared 'treasure'

A 600-year-old piece of jewellery discovered on the Island has been declared as 'Treasure'.

The silver and gilt ring - dated between 1400 and 1500 - was found by metal detectorist Gordan Graham back in May.

The artefact was classed as treasure by Coroner of Inquests, John Needham.

Curator for Archaeology at Manx National Heritage, Allison Fox, says they can't determine who it belonged to but they can see from the quality the person had the means to buy good pieces.
