    Abortion campaigners 'pleased' with progress

Campaigners say they're cautiously optimistic about the prospects of changing the Island's abortion laws after more debate from MHKs this week.

Yesterday, the House of Keys formed a committee of the whole house to discuss Dr Alex Allinson's private member's bill.

Despite 60 tabled amendments, the legislation has survived largely intact.

The Campaign for Abortion Law Modernisation, which has been leading calls for change, says it's now hopeful the bill will successfully continue its passage through parliament.
