An additional sitting of the House of Keys is taking place later this morning to continue discussions on the Assisted Dying Bill.
On Tuesday last week, Dr Alex Allinson MHK read out the bill's 14 clauses to members, only managing to get to the ninth.
Chief Minister Alf Cannan MHK asked during the extended sitting on Wednesday for there to be a referendum to allow the public's views on the Bill to be heard, following concerns he had about the clause regarding conscientious objections.
Dr Allinson says today will bring the Bill a step closer to the Council of Ministers:
