Pet owners should take suitable precautions in the run up to Bonfire Night.
That's the advice from local police as numerous displays take place across the Island this week.
They say there are a number of simple things to do in order to minimise the noise and flashes caused by fireworks.
For example, to take them out for a walk before it gets dark so animals aren't caught unaware by early fireworks -the exercise will also help to calm them before the noises start.
They also advise to keep the curtains closed, have the TV or radio on, as this will mask noises and flashes.
