Agreement reached with BBC over free TV licenses

Over 75s on the Isle of Man will get free TV licenses after negotiations with the BBC.

That's according to Chief Minister Howard Quayle who confirmed an agreement has now been reached with the corporation.

Previously, pensioners could claim payments from the Treasury to cover the cost of their licence.

However, under the new agreement TV licences will be automatically renewed by the BBC.
