Air ambulance flights stopped three times by storms

Health and Social Care Minister Claire Christian says the Great North Air Ambulance Service had to abort coming to the Island four times last year because of bad weather.

She faced a question for written response from Douglas North MHK John Wannenburgh about how often the helicopters, based in Penrith and Darlington, had been unable to fly.

In her response, she said there'd been four such instances over the last 12 months - once when it was unable to land because of bad weather.

On three other occasions helicopters weren't dispatched because of storms Connal, Darragh, and Eowyn.
