Almost 70% of Police Officers surveyed say they 'rely on overtime to make ends meet'

It comes following a satisfaction survey from the Police Federation, where 144 officers responded.

Of that total, only 19 people 'agree' or 'strongly agree' that they don't rely on working overtime to make enough money.

The report says officers are feeling 'abandoned' by those in senior positions who could champion improved pay and conditions with the government.

The Department of Home Affairs agrees that the survey is a 'cause for serious concern,' and is committed to finding a solution.
