Amber and yellow warnings for overtopping and gales

Amber and yellow weather warnings are in place for the Island today for gales and coastal overtopping.

The amber notice for overtopping comes into force at 10am this morning and runs until 2pm with the north end of Douglas Promenade, Shore Road in Rushen and Castletown Promenade the most likely to be affected.

Meanwhile, a yellow notice for gale force winds around the Isle of Man came into effect last night and will also be in place until 2pm.

Ronaldsway Met Office says there could be gusts of up to 60mph recorded today, although it's expected to decrease during the afternoon.
