Animated film co funded by IOM Film & CinemaNX up for top award

 An animated film co-funded by Isle of Man Film and CinemaNX has received a nomination in a top European Film Awards.

 

Chico and Rita has been nominated in the European Film Academy’s Animated Feature Film category.

 

The picture tells the story of a young Cuban pianist and a female singer who embark on a love affair as they try to make a place for themselves in the Jazz world.

 

Allan Bell, Minister for the Department of Economic Development said, "We are so very proud of this nomination and delighted that Chico & Rita has been recognised as a work of art by its peers and colleagues’.

 

The award will be held in Berlin on December 3rd.
