Bad news for booze in latest inflation figures

New government figures show inflation has continued rising.

The latest statistics from the Cabinet Office shows the annual CPI rate for March was 2.8 per cent, up 0.2 per cent on February's figure.

There's bad news for boozers - with the price of wine and spirits in pubs and bars going up by 9.5 per cent in the last 12 months.

But there's better news for gas prices, with a fall of 18.2 per cent.
