A school in the south of the Island could gain a new mobile classroom due to a rise in pupils.
Ballasalla Primary School has seen a surge in students enrolling, with the re-construction of the Clagh Vane estate and the Reayrt Mie development, from 95 students in September 2019 to 167 in September 2024.
The Department of Education, Sports & Culture has applied for the development and if approved, two mobile classrooms would replace the existing community cabins mobile units within the school grounds.
It's anticipated that the school roll will continue to grow over the next few years as housing developments continue.
