The wife of Bee Gee’s star Robin Gibb has thanked his devoted fans for their support during his recent health problems and said she is eternally proud of her husband’s achievements.

The 62 year old singer was feared to have just days to live after contracting pneumonia and falling into a coma following a battle with cancer.

Speaking to The Sun newspaper, Dwina Gibb said her husband told doctors that he wanted to live "no matter what” despite doctors describing his prognosis as "very grave”.

Dwina revealed that during the nine days Robin spent in a coma his family played him his favourite music including a number of Bee Gee’s tracks.

She also revealed that he had woken up to the sounds of the newly released Titanic Requiem which was composed by Robin and his son RJ.

Doctors have since praised the singers fighting spirit and remarkable physical endurance as he is now fully conscious and able breathe on his own.
