The Chief Minister has attacked any criticism of Mark Cavendish after the Sports Personality of the Year failed to mention anything about the Isle of Man in his victory speech.
Speaking to 3FM, Allan Bell said it was ‘sad to see the Manx crabs come out at a time like this’ and that it was Cavendish’s big night in recognition of his own personal achievements.
Mr Bell also highlighted the massive publicity the Laxey man generated for the island, even recently with a full two-page spread in The Times newspapers about young Manx cyclists (see audio).
