Beware of storm-damaged glens in windy weather

The government's urging people to be careful in glens and plantations in the run-up to Christmas because of dangers still remaining after Storm Darragh.

On Facebook, the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture says more strong winds of up to gale force are expected over the next week.

That may bring down trees which have been left damaged or unstable after recent bad weather.

DEFA says it strongly advises people to avoid glens and plantations during high winds, and is asking people to keep out of taped-off areas and report any problems by emailing forestry@gov.im
