Bikers prepare to make some noise

Bikers are being invited to take part in a 'minute's noise' to remember those who have 'passed under the chequered flag'.

Each year a group meets on Laxey Promenade to take part in the two minute's silence at 11am - then at 12 they drop the flag and make a lot of noise.

The beach kiosk will open for the day and there will be a 'bikers jumble sale'.

It started five years ago to mark the death of a Moto GP rider and organiser Bill Snelling thought it was a nice tribute to keep doing annually.
