A birthday hero who saved a life has been honoured by the Island's chief constable.
Nick Perkins, son of former Garff MHK Martyn Perkins, went into the sea in Laxey in April to rescue someone as he celebrated his 40th birthday.
Nick, who now lives in Australia, was recognised for his exceptional courage and bravery at the Chief Constable's Annual Awards Ceremony yesterday.
His father and twin sister Sergeant Emily Perkins accepted the award on his behalf at a ceremony at the Comis Hotel in Santon.
