Braddan commissioners announce no change to rates

Some welcome news for the people of Braddan today as the commissioners have confirmed that their rates will remain unchanged.

For the third year in a row they have been able to retain their rate at 227p in the pound.

They say the positive news is attributed to careful scrutiny of the cost of core functions, including waste disposal and the effective use of the authority's finances.

£100,000 has been ring fenced for play equipment in all the play parks in the area, in particular Grianagh Park will see the creation of a BMX track.

Further details of the commissioners' plans will be revealed in the forthcoming Business Plan which will be issued to ratepayers in April.
