Braddan rates rise 'unlikely to be due to Roundhouse'

Braddan commissioners say while they can't guarantee rates won't go up next year, they're unlikely to do so because of the controversial Roundhouse.

A letter from a resident asking for an assurance rates wouldn't rise again was discussed at the board's last meeting.

In their reply, members said they couldn't make that promise, but that any rise was likely to be because of inflation.

They said the Roundhouse finances were unlikely to lead to a rise next year - this year the building contributed a 36 per cent rise, the highest on the Island.
