Braddan commissioners say they're raising rates by 36.5 per cent this year.
The eye-watering increase will see rates jump from last year's 257p in the pound to 351p.
The local authority says it needs extra cash to pay for the recently-completed Roundhouse as well as rises in energy and waste costs.
Chairman, Andrew Jessopp says the commissioners have had to make some tough decisions but feel that it is a realistic budget.
