The Chief Minister says the redevelopment of three prominent brownfield sites plays a role in both retaining and attracting people and investment to our Island.
It was recently announced that the Villiers and Lake Road sites in Douglas, as well as the Ocean Castle site in Port Erin are set for regeneration through the Island Infrastructure Scheme.
It'll result in new accommodation, a hotel and mixed use facilities, with government covering up to a quarter of the costs.
Alfred Cannan says prominent areas of the Island's capital in particular have been 'crying out' for regeneration.
He adds that with support from the government scheme, he hopes this is the beginning of 'breathing new life into our towns and villages,' helping communities to thrive.
