Builder fraudulently claimed £16,000 in incapacity benefit

A benefit fraudster will be sentenced in November after a court heard he'd claimed more than £16,000 in incapacity benefit while working as a builder.

35 year old Paul Barker of Fairfield Terrace in Douglas appeared before Deputy High Bailiff Rachael Braidwood at Douglas Courthouse.

He admitted two counts of failing to tell officials about a change of circumstances - the court heard he'd been wrongly paid £16,663.

Barker was bailed to appear again for sentencing on November 5.
