Car catches fire after crash

A crew from Castletown was dispatched to the scene on the New Castletown Road, between the Blackboards and Ballasalla, at 7.45pm. 

 

The car had been involved in an earlier collision - there were no serious injuries reported. 

 

Crews found a fire in the engine compartment of the vehicle, which was also leaking fuel - using hydraulic cutters they opened the engine and extinguished it.
