Car tax could go up by as much as 10% this year

Car tax could go up by as much as 10 per cent this year - if Tynwald approves new rates.

The Vehicle Duty Order 2023 is due to be discussed by members when the court sits in March.

Under the proposals, overall duty in each category would rise by 10 percent, although low and zero emission vehicles will pay £65 a year.

The measures would also give people the option of paying six months at a time instead of a year - but splitting the cost will mean paying £6 extra per transaction.
