Carbon literacy training is for legal requirements, says DEFA

The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture says carbon literacy training for its staff means they can meet legal requirements.

A Freedom of Information request asked for more details on a contract with Manx company Earthscope to provide carbon literacy training.

In its response, DEFA says it spent just over £42,000 training more than 500 government workers.

And it says the course means they can carry out their legal duties under the Island's Climate Change Act.
