Castletown commissioners have promised to pay their workers the living wage.
They took to their Facebook page this week to announce plans to adopt the hourly rate of £8.61 as a minimum payment to all staff.
The board is the second local authority to make the decision, after Ramsey commissioners agreed to introduce the living wage earlier this year.
Commissioner Jamie Horton says the decision was unanimous, showing commitment from Castletown to be a responsible employer.
