Chambers of Commerce wants Tynwald to push back increases to minimum wage

The Chamber of Commerce says local businesses will be significantly impacted by an increase to minimum wage.

It comes after plans from the Department of Enterprise and the Treasury to put forward plans in Tynwald to increase minimum wage from £11.45 to £12.25 per hour from 1 April.

The organisation says if plans are approved then it's essential that the Government introduce the increased support which has been promised to help businesses adapt.

Its appealing to Tynwald members to push back the first increase in wages until later in the year.
