A new project is being introduced to raise the physical and mental health of TT competitors.
Currently, those taking part have to file a medical report from their doctor, but from 2025 will also undergo a medical assessment before the first race.
As part of the project some riders will volunteer this year to have a range of physiological, mechanical and biochemical assessments.
Data will be monitored for things such as heart rate and grip strength to help inform medical standards in the future.
Organisers say the revised medical standards should give clarity between the TT's inherent risks and the unnecessary ones.
