Charity shocked at meals on wheels U-turn

Age Concern Isle of Man says it's shocked the government's cutting what the Department of Health and Social Care called a "vital" service.

A report by the department last year, it said it would continue funding the Meals on Wheels service - but this week announced it would drop its £150,000 a year support.

Age concern says 84 of those who rely on the service are aged between 90 and 102.

Helen Southworth, Age Concern Isle of Man's chief executive, says the decision could put vulnerable older people at risk of malnutrition.
