Birds around the Island are getting entangled in fishing line and netting.
That's the message from Manx Wild Bird Aid which took to social media this morning.
The charity is currently monitoring several cases across the Island.
It says occasionally the line will cause the bird's leg to die and fall off - resulting in the bird managing with just one leg.
However, it warns more often it casues a bone infection so the animal will die a slow and unpleasant death.
The charity is urging for volunteers and says if you're interested to phone 473582.
