    Chief Minister applauds unemployment rate despite rise

    The Island's unemployment rate has risen.

    In July it stood at 1.8 per cent - up 0.1 per cent from the previous month. 
     
    Despite this the figures for July were the lowest they've been for the month in several years. 
     
    790 people were registered as out of work - 68 per cent of these are men. 
     
    Chief Minister Allan Bell says although it's a positive result, there's no reason to become complacent:
