Chief Minister nominations to be made today

Tynwald Members will be asked to put forward their thoughts on who they'd like to see elected to the post.

 

Those nominated will then be required to submit a written policy statement within two days which will be made public. 

 

South Douglas MHK, and Liberal Vannin leader, Kate Beecroft has confirmed her intention to stand for the role despite a lack of ministerial experience: 

 

 

Current government ministers Howard Quayle and Laurence Skelly have been widely touted as potential replacements for Allan Bell - both say they'll do whatever they're asked: 

 

 

The new Chief Minister will be elected at a special sitting of Tynwald on October 4th.
