Chief Minister pays tribute following Notre Dame fire

The Island's Chief Minister has paid tribute to the people of France following a devastating fire at the Notre Dame Cathedral.

The blaze at the famous 12th century building, thought to have been started by accident, took at least 14 hours to bring under control.

On Twitter Howard Quayle said his thoughts are with the people of France, and an injured firefighter.

He added the cathedral is an icon of both the French nation, and of Europe - one he was lucky enough to have visited years ago.
