Onchan MHK Rob Callister is to query the Department of Infrastructure's pay and display Christmas Car Park next week.
In the House of Keys, he'll ask Infrastructure Minister Ray Harmer how much shoppers will have to pay for an hour's parking on Douglas Promenade Walkway - and how much for longer than four hours.
The DOI is currently consulting on proposals to make people pay for the walkway car park, which opens each year for the festive period.
It operated as pay-and-display for the first time last year, despite objections from local traders.
In previous years, moves to charge people for parking on the prom in the temporary car park had been dropped following protests.
But the department is currently consulting about its plans to charge £1.50 for up to an hour's parking, and £5 for longer than four hours.
The consultation period runs until November 24.
And the Promenade Walkway Parking Places Designation Order comes into effect from November 25, just one day later.
