Commissioners vow action on rundown Ramsey buildings

Ramsey commissioners say they won't tolerate properties being left to decay, after winning a court victory over a local business.

The local authority took Gecko Investments to court about the state of the Victoria Mall complex on Christian Street in Ramsey - the firm denied failing to comply with a notice between April and July.

After conviction, the company was fined £1,500 and ordered to pay £8,612 costs and £50 a day until improvement work is completed.

On Facebook, Ramsey commissioner Lamara Craine says the board is working to tackle the issue of dilapidated properties and more cases may go to court in future.
