A woman who tried to throw a drink in a man’s face ended up injuring him with the glass, a court’s heard.
Alysha Katherine Elizabeth Kelly of Barrule Drive in Onchan appeared before Deputy High Bailiff James Brooks at Douglas Courthouse.
She admitted causing actual bodily harm in 1886 Bar and Grill on Regent Street in Douglas on June 27 last year.
Prosecutor Hazel Carroon told the hearing the 22-year-old recognised a friend’s ex-partner in the club and uploaded video of him dancing to Snapchat.
As he passed her on the stairs, she hit him with the glass while trying to throw her drink over him – he suffered damage to his teeth as well as a cut lip.
Mr Brooks told her the situation had got out of hand and said the incident could have been a lot more serious had the glass broken in her victim’s face.
He ordered her to do 80 hours of community service and pay £624 compensation and £50 costs.
