A Douglas man has been ordered to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work after starting a fight in the street.
36-year-old Paul Mark Grant, of Hope Street, ended up in a 'tussle' with another man in Ramsey on September 29th.
At Douglas Courthouse on Tuesday he admitted affray.
Grant instigated the altercation outside Bar Logo on Parliament Street - he didn't know the man he ended up fighting on the floor with.
After the incident was broken up the men came to blows again near The Courthouse - Grant was arrested and taken to Police Headquarters.
His advocate told the court: "He understands he was the instigator of this - he apologies unreservedly."
Imposing the Community Service Order, and ordering Grant to pay £125 in prosecution costs, Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes told him: "I will treat this as a one off."
