Richmond Hill will close for several hours this evening whilst cones are removed from the overtaking lane.
The closure will be in force between 6.30pm and 11pm between Cooil Roundabout and Mount Murray Back Road - cleaning of beany kerbs and sweeping will also take place during that time.
In a statement, the Department of Infrastructure says an inspection last week found the shedding issue on the surface has 'considerably reduced' and the warmer weather has made the road more stable.
However, following the closure the 30mph speed limit will remain in place, and unmarked police vehicles will be in the area to encourage safe driving.
