Conference will focus on Island's WW1 internment camps

Academics from the USA and Germany will visit the Island next month to mark the 100th anniversary of the arrival of the first "enemy aliens".

A two day conference is being jointly organised by Manx National Heritage and De Montfort University as part of the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War.

The experts will bring together their specialist knowledge on the internment camps which were based at Cunningham's in Douglas and then at Knockaloe.
