    'Consider face masks' says MHK

The Manx government's "not doing enough" to control the virus now the borders have opened, says a politician.

That statement comes from Speaker of the House of Keys, Juan Watterson.

Last night it was confirmed there's 130 active cases of Covid-19, that's a hike of 30 in 24 hours.

As the numbers continue to rise on the island, Mr Watterson took to social media with a stark warning.

He said: "The vaccine might reduce symptoms but it doesn't make you bulletproof".

Mr Watterson is advising islanders to consider wearing face masks when they are inside a busy building.

"Opening the borders means that we now need measures that weren't required during elimination," he added.
