A consultation has been launched on proposals to update legislation on rights for same sex parents.
Legislative Council member Tanya August-Hanson has put forward a Private Member's Bill to modernise Human Fertilisation, Embryology, and Legal Parentage and Surrogacy arrangements.
It would look to change the definitions of 'mother' and 'father' to recognise that same sex couples may wish to have children using modern fertilisation and embryology methods.
The Bill would also allow these couples to register births.
You can have your say by responding to the consultation before September 29.
