The cost of a driving test could be in line for an inflation-busting rise, if Tynwald members approve.
When Tynwald sits today, members will be asked to approve two new set of regulations - the Driving Licences and Test (Fees) Regulations 2023 and the Motor Cars (Driving Instructors) (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations.
If approved by the court, the measures would see the Department of Infrastructure increase the price of a driving test by 25 per cent.
The department says it needs extra money to cover next year's budget, and says without the rise it may have to cut spending on road and path maintenance.
