    Cuts show policing is no longer a 'priority' says Chief

    Fewer police officers, the closure of two police stations and a possible impact on emergency response times - the latest results of government budget cuts.

    Under drastic plans unveiled by the Island's police force the number of frontline staff is being slashed by 11 per cent. 
     
    Lord Street and Port Erin stations are expected to close by September; they'll also be fewer detectives and senior officers as well as a new approach to night time policing. 
     
    Chief Constable Gary Roberts says the emergency service no longer seems to be a priority:
