    Cuts to police aren't fueling crime wave says Chief

    Have cuts to the police force helped fuel the current crime wave being experienced on the Island?

    According to the Chief Minister the answer is no - despite policing levels having fallen to those last seen in the mid-1990s. 
     
    Since January 9th there have been 21 reported burglaries and attempted burglaries - with the culprits still at large. 
     
    Allan Bell says he doesn't think recent changes to the frontline service are responsible: 
     
     
    Among the changes are a reduction in the number of officers working in the neighbourhood teams and changes to how the Island is policed at night - despite this Mr Bell says the situation is still under control:
