    Cybercrime becoming a 'routine' threat to local community

    Cybercrime will soon become a routine threat to local people and businesses on the Isle of Man.

    That's according to the Chief Constable - he says although police haven't seen a significant rise in the crime he has "no doubt" that we're entering a period where crimes using technology will become a "routine event".
     
    Over the past year local people have been defrauded of money by criminals overseas - work has now begun to develop an Island wide approach to cyber-security. 
     
    Tim Rattray is the managing director at Rossborough - he says criminals see smaller companies who don't put the effort into cyber security as 'low hanging fruit':
